You cannot change it. To change the name of a style, create a new style based on the one whose name you want to change, and give it the changed name.</c></p> <p style="Heading 2"><c style="Heading 2" props="lang:en-US">Style Type</c></p> <p style="Normal"><c style="Normal" props="lang:en-US">This drop-down menu allows you to select 'paragraph' or 'character' as the style type.</c></p> <p style="Normal"><c style="Normal" props="lang:en-US">A paragraph style applies to whole paragraphs at a time. A character style applies to a single character at a time. You can set character properties in a paragraph style, and they apply to the whole paragraph. You cannot set paragraph properties in a character style. If you attempt to do so, the operation simply fails.</c></p> <p style="Normal"><c style="Normal" props="lang:en-US">[Note: I am not sure that this is true, but styles are still being worked on.]</c></p> <p style="Heading 2"><c style="Heading 2" props="lang:en-US">Based on:</c></p> <p style="Normal"><c style="Normal" props="lang:en-US">You can change the style on which the current style is based. The properties that the style inherited from its previous base style are changed to match the new style. [Note: at present, all the properties are changed. This is a bug.]</c></p> <p style="Heading 2"><c style="Heading 2" props="lang:en-US">Style for following paragraph</c></p> <p style="Normal"><c style="Normal" props="lang:en-US">You can set styles so that when you press return, the style changes. This is particularly useful for heading styles. Select the style you want from the next paragraph from this drop-down menu. 'Current Settings' means that the style is not changed between paragraphs, and any additional formatting you have added also remains.</c></p> <p style="Heading 2"><c style="Heading 2" props="lang:en-US">Preview</c></p> <p style="Normal"><c style="Normal" props="lang:en-US">An example of what your style will look like. Thus, if the property is 'text-decoration', the value might be 'underline'. Properties and values are separated by a colon.</c></p> <p style="Heading 2"><c style="Heading 2" props="lang:en-US">Remove property from style</c></p> <p style="Normal"><c style="Normal" props="lang:en-US">The drop down menu contains a list of all the properties in the style. It does not list the values of the properties, only the things that the style changes. To remove a property, select it on the list. It will then appear in the box.
